Nutr Sci 421: Global Health Field Experience

Summer 2024:
Nutr Sci 421: Planning Healthy Cities (1cr)
Two-week summer field course (late May) on urban environs and city planning from a public health perspective. The course will work with different City of Madison agencies (e.g. Department of Transportation), Public Health Madison Dane County, and community partners to explore different urban design and policy initiatives to improve health outcomes and equity in Madison.


Land Arc 363: Earth Partnership: Restoration Education for Equity and Resilience
Spring Semester – 3 credits
Work with Native Nations and community partners on ecological restoration education and the power of place to work towards social justice and sustainability. Interact with guest speakers and work on community-based stewardship projects.
Land Arc 360: Earth Partnership Restoration Education: Indigenous Arts and Sciences
Summer Term – 1 credit
Multiple one-week community-based courses working with Native Nations in Wisconsin and focused on indigenous knowledge, ecological restoration, stewardship, cultural values, and environmental health.


Nursing 436: Health and Illness Concepts with Individuals, Families, and Communities
Fall/Spring/Summer – 2-4 credits
Second year clinical course only open to students in the Nursing BSN program.
